Spinal Fusion Procedures for Pain Management
Spinal Fusion
Treatment Overview
Spinal fusion technologies are advanced surgical options designed to address various spinal conditions. These innovative solutions focus on relieving pain, restoring function and improving quality of life for individuals with chronic back issues.
Spinal Fusion Technologies
Fusion technologies involves surgically joining two or more vertebrae to create a stable, solid spine segment. This technique is used to treat conditions that cause spinal instability or degeneration, such as degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis and severe spinal stenosis. By stabilizing the affected vertebrae, fusion procedures aim to reduce pain and restore proper spinal alignment and function.
Minuteman® (Interspinous-Interlaminar Fusion Device)
The Minuteman Fusion Device is a state-of-the-art solution designed to stabilize the spine during fusion surgery. This innovative device supports spinal alignment and promotes the fusion process by securely anchoring the vertebrae together. Ideal for treating conditions like degenerative disc disease and spondylolisthesis, the Minuteman Device aims to enhance stability and reduce pain, helping individuals return to their normal activities more quickly.
StabiLink® (MIS Interlaminar Spinal Fixation System)
The Stabilink Spinal Fixation System offers a comprehensive approach to spinal stabilization. This advanced system uses a combination of screws, rods and other components to securely support the spine and facilitate fusion. It is particularly effective for treating spinal deformities and instability, providing reliable support and enhancing the healing process. The Stabilink System is designed to improve spinal alignment and function, leading to better outcomes.
What to Expect
- Preparation: Procedures are performed in our same-day surgery center. Local anesthesia or sedation is provided for comfort.
- Procedure: An incision is made, damaged disc material or bone is removed and fusion devices are implanted to stabilize the spine. Bone grafts or synthetic materials promote new bone growth. The procedure may take a few hours.
- Recovery: You’ll be monitored briefly post-procedure, with a small bandage over the incision. Most people resume normal activities quickly, with discomfort managed by over-the-counter pain relief.
