Profile
Growing up in northeast Minneapolis, Dr. Bettendorf attended Gustavus Adolphus College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. Inspired to give back, she traveled east to pursue her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bettendorf completed her transitional internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital and entered her anesthesiology residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. It was during this time that she became interested in pain management after realizing what a profound impact chronic pain can have on a person’s quality of life. From there, she completed her fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Washington.
After completing her medical training, Dr. Bettendorf moved back to Minnesota in 2019 to practice as a pain management physician. Before joining Nura, Dr. Erin Bettendorf worked at United Pain Center, Allina Health in St. Paul, MN. She is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
