Dr. Cody Foster Joins Nura Pain Clinics
EDINA, Minn. Aug. 3, 2022 – Nura Pain Clinics, the Twin Cities’ foremost multidisciplinary pain management clinic, announced today that Dr. Cody Foster will join their team of pain management providers this month.
Dr. Foster recently completed his pain management fellowship at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center. Prior to his fellowship, he completed his residency in anesthesiology at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center, which followed his intern year at Hennepin County Medical Center. He received his medical doctorate through the University of Minnesota Medical School.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team of experts at Nura and look forward to improving the lives of patients with complex pain,” said Dr. Foster. “Nura shares my philosophy that people with chronic pain should be treated holistically and comprehensively.”
Dr. Foster first became interested in practicing in a clinic setting while volunteering at the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic during medical school. He is looking forward to practicing at Nura, where he can develop long-lasting relationships with his patients, and celebrate with them as they find relief from their pain.
“Too many pain patients are tired and hopeless, unable to find relief from the pain that impacts them in a myriad of ways everyday,” said Dr. Foster. “Nura treats the most complex chronic pain patients in the Twin Cities, walks alongside them, and promises them we won’t give up.”
Dr. Foster is specifically excited about the growing field of neuromodulation treatment within pain medicine. Neuromodulation alters a patient’s perception of pain signals by delivering electrical stimulation or medication to a targeted area in the body. Nura is already considered a Center of Excellence for neuromodulation and with the addition of Dr. Foster will have an even wider breadth of experience when it comes to these technologies.
“At Nura, we are constantly evolving to better address the pain issues our patients cope with,” said Dr. David Schultz, CEO at Nura. “Part of that evolution is bringing on new providers with unique experiences in different facets of pain medicine. Dr. Foster, having worked with several cutting-edge neuromodulation technologies, is a provider who will further expand our premier neuromodulation capabilities, all to benefit our patients.”
Dr. Foster grew up in Eagan and is looking forward to returning to his home state. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking, hiking and reading.
At Nura, patients can receive a full range of care from medication management, physical therapy and behavioral health services coordinated with minimally invasive interventional procedures all within the same practice. This is a critical advantage for patients who otherwise may receive fragmented pain management by multiple providers at multiple locations. For more complex chronic pain problems, Nura offers a full range of implantable pain control options including spinal cord stimulation and targeted spinal drug delivery devices. Nura’s multidisciplinary approach also aims to dial down the need for opioids to treat pain.
